Frequently Asked Questions About Physiotherapy

FAQs:

Do you have accessible parking and entry to your clinic?

There is disabled parking at the front of our building shared with Sandgate Nashville Medical Practice, as well as more public car parking around our set of buildings with no steps into our business. See our location on Google Maps.

What should I expect on my first physiotherapy appointment?

Your Physiotherapist will have a detailed discussion with you about your symptoms and goals, perform a physical assessment to see how you move and find the root of your problem, provide you with a personalised, evidence-based hands-on treatment plan (mobilisations, taping, dry needling) and give you a home exercise program to support recovery until your next appointment.

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No referral is needed for private Physiotherapy. If you are claiming through Medicare, DVA or WorkCover you will need a referral. You can email the referral before your first appointment.

Do you treat children and older adults?

Absolutely! Our team is experienced in treating patients across all age groups. Please contact us with any questions before your appointment.

How long are physiotherapy appointments?

Initial consultations are around 40-60 minutes, follow up sessions vary from 20-40 minutes depending on the type of appointment booked in.

What should I expect after my first appointment?

It is not uncommon for your symptoms to feel like they’ve worsened for the next 24 hours after your first session from our initial consultation because we’ve assessed your range of movement/injuries. Follow your personalised plan from your Physiotherapist to avoid any issues, and please let us know if you have any questions.

I can’t make my booked appointment, how should I contact you?

We understand life gets busy. Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice by calling us on 0416 393 276, or leave a message if it’s after hours to avoid cancellation fees and allow us to offer your spot to someone else.
